Peter Lik, an Australian Photographer found his passion in photography at 8 years. His first photo clicked was that of a spider web at his family home. He received a gift of camera from his parents which helped him to take amazing photos.
From an early age, Peter Lik started wandering through the different countries of the globe. He captured the images of waterfalls, huge mountains, and natural landscapes from various angles. Peter started his photography career in 1984 after traveling to the United States. This visit was more like a challenge to Peter from which he had to learn a lot of things about photography.
During this trip, Peter learned how to use the medium format panoramic camera. USA trip was like a challenge for Peter Lik which he took up well.
Peter went to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1994 where he started Lik USA. This gallery offered the facility of printing as well as framing the photos of Lik. Later, he established his own started his own publishing company known as Lik Publishing. This company added postcards, coffee table books, and calendars displaying the works of Peter Lik.
The first book published by Lik was Australia: Images of a Timeless Land in 1997. Later, he published a coffee table book in 2010. This book contains 580 pages and weighs around 40 pounds and includes more than 500 images.
After returning home, Peter started his own fine art publishing company in Cairns which is his hometown. By 2000, Peter was one of the most successful photographers,and their work was highlighted in a book namely Spirit of America.
